10 Fabulous Nantucket Blue and White Interiors with Decorative Rugs

Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard smaller neighbor to the west is the island from where Melville’s fictional 19th century whale ship The Pequod sails out in search of Moby Dick. Today it is an elite resort for those who prefer a quieter pace.
Today we will explore how leading interior designers work with blue and white and what kinds of decorative rugs work best.

1. Victoria Hagan. has collaborated with architects Ferguson and Shamamian on several homes. For this Nantucket house, Hagan chose a blue and white decorative rug to complement a large blue modern painting. Hagan adjusted the scale of the blue and white plaid pattern so it would work better in this large living room. The sofas are covered in white duck and a blue cashmere throw adds pop.
