The five best rooms with designer rugs in the June 2017 Elle Decor feature the 18th-century Paris apartment of American socialite Katherine Bryan designed by Studio Peregalli, the living room of a Jamie Drake and Caleb Anderson designed apartment in one of New York's tallest towers overlooking Central Park, the living room of the home of designer Ernest de la Torre in Snedens Landing, New York and outdoor dining on a beautiful porch in an Amagansett, New York house designed by Richard Mishaan.

My picks for the 5 best rooms with decorative rugs in Architectural Digest's October 2014 issue all happen to be contemporary. I have noticed that in some months it is the traditional rooms that are the stars, and in the next issue it is all the contemporary spaces that take center stage. If you know why styles fluctuate from month to month, please share your insight in the comments section.
Pinterest's 20 best interiors with striped rugs, fabrics and wallcoverings were chosen because they offer the greatest inspiration for designing chic and stylish rooms. The 20 interiors show that stripes work equally well in traditional rooms as they do in contemporary spaces. Stripes will add zip to a beach house and also help bring a chic look to a Manhattan apartment. Stripes come in neutrals as well as in bold colors, and you will see how interior designers use each type of stripe to the best effect.

If you’re like to know what the color trends are and keep an eye on the fashion scene, this is a great time of year to think of creating a stylish interior that is up to date, but not trendy. The design world is in a whirr of festive indulgence, but also looking forward to the spring fashion events that kick off just after the New Year. One of the most anticipated announcements heralding the “new” season came from Pantone just a few days ago. The Color of the Year for 2014 is Pantone 18-3224, Radiant Orchid.
Pantone 2014 Color Radiant Orchid,
In July and August we desire restful sleep in bedrooms that let in cool breezes and the fragrances from the garden. The 14 bedrooms in today's post have all these qualities plus incredible style. There is a lot of blue and white in all the interiors except the one in Hawaii, where the cresting ocean waves surrounding the bedroom provide wide expanses of blue and white.
