The 2016 Hampton Designer Showhouse features 10,000 sq. ft. on three verdant acres in Sag Harbor, New York. The 8 bedrooms, 7.5 baths and numerous well lit spaces are a great showcase for the work of 26 interior designers who have artfully mixed tasteful furniture, elegant designer rugs and eye catching art. I was particularly attracted to the spaces by Liliane Hart, Michael Del Piero, McGrath II, Wolf Interior Design, Kate Singer, Mabley Handler, Julie Dodson, The Rinfret Group, Tilton Fenwick and Mikel Welch. Saunders Realty is marketing the house for $5,300,000 including such solar powered amenities as an elevator, home theater, gym, wine cellar, folding glass wall system and a 45′ pool and hot tub.
1. Second Floor Master Bedroom – Liliane Hart
Manhattan-based designer Liliane Hart enlivens the 2nd floor master bathroom with a blue and white geometric wallpaper and a blue Oushak rug. What you can’t see in this picture is the luxurious shower with its three remote-controlled shower heads, acoustic speakers and great lighting options.
2. Corner Bedroom – Michael Del Piero
Chicago designer and world traveler Michael Del Piero hand-picked a cream and taupe Oushak rug to give her muted corner bedroom a soft and dreamy ambiance. Artist Lucy Slivinski created the steel and crystal chandelier.

5. Great Room – Kate Singer
Designer Kate Singer selected a light gray flat weave rug in the first floor’s great room to complement watery-blue upholstery and a Wedgwood blue and white Chinoiserie panel. Kate has artfully mixed an early 1800s Swedish settee with a Bunny Williams side table and a consignment shop footstool.

6. First Floor Master Bedroom – Mabley Handler
Hamptons and Palm Beach designer Mabley Handler has created a calm and cozy master bedroom with a gray-brown textured silk rug. Adding excitement are a mix of small and medium scale geometric patterns in the fabrics and furniture and a wall of drapery that feels like a sleep inducing waterfall of fog.
7. Bunk Room – Julie Dodson
In the bunk room, Houston designer Julie Dodson’s “casual glamour” is accentuated by a wood grain pattern designer rug. Half-moon bed canopies and gilded mirrors suspended by old rope complete the atmosphere.
8. Pool Area – The Rinfret Group
Denise Rinfret and Missy Rinfret Minicucci selected four sets of elegant waterproof-padded chaise lounge chairs to surround the 45-foot-long pool overlooking the tennis courts. Blue and white Chinese porcelain and blue and white striped umbrellas add pizzazz.
9. First Floor Master Bath – Tilton Fenwick
Anne Maxwell Foster and Suysel dePedro Cunningham of Tilton Fenwick must have had a lot of fun designing the first floor master bath. The wonderful mix of patterns has a young energy. The blue and orange water resistant braided rug is a great complement for the apricot drapery.
10. Center Bedroom – Mikel Welch
Interior designer and design expert on The Steve Harvey Show, Mike Welch was looking to design a warm and traveled bedroom. Mike added wood beams to the ceiling, selected an Oushak rug in subtle grays and cream and an 8-foot antique wood door as a headboard. The hundreds of years old door was imported from Pakistan.
