Interior designer Katie Ridder and husband architect Peter Pennoyer think out of the box in this boldly colored living room in their Hudson Valley home. Pink walls, olive green drapes, red, purple and blue upholstery are complimented by an antique Turkish Oushak rug with a gold background and red and green accent colors.

An emerald green 19th century Donegal rug with red and yellow accents inspired the color palette of Katie Ridder and Peter Pennoyer’s bedroom. The yellow walls, pink bed alcove and red headboard are all derived from the Donegal rug which itself was inspired by 19th century Turkish Oushak rugs.
A gold, beige and brown custom rug defines the sitting area and compliments Jasper Johns’s 1967 painting, Flag and a 1963 Robert Rauschenberg unttitled silkscreen in the Rose Tarlow designed Brentwood, CA living room of Edythe and Eli Broad.
