We’ve hand-picked the five best rooms with designer rugs from the July/August edition of Traditional Home. See designer Jennifer Culp create a bohemian style living room, Patricia Fisher designs a soft modern room at The Hampton Designer Showhouse and Phillip Sides designs a family-friendly Alabama home.
1. 1915 Georgian Style Home
A home situated in Los Angeles’s historic and affluent Hancock Park gave Jennifer Culp the opportunity to design this bohemian style living room. She selected a red and orange Indian Sari oversized rug with tints of purple and cream to contrast the pair of vintage blue chairs, blue throw quilt and photograph of an African woman in a field by Jackie Nickerson.
2. Hampton Designer Showhouse
Patricia Fisher designed this great room last year at The Hampton Designer Showhouse, which is led by honorary chairmen—Mario Buatta, Jamie Drake and Alexa Hampton. Patricia used a blue and cream geometric rug to complete her soft modern color palette.
3. Alabama Family Room
For a family of eleven, Phillip Sides helped architecturally build and design this 15,000 square foot home that rests on 30 acres with a private lake. In the family room he selected a lavender-blue wool and silk contemporary rug with a Moroccan-inspired ivory border.
4. Southeast Dining Room
Phillip Sides added plaster tracery on the ceiling of this Alabama dining room to create a historic atmosphere. To lighten up the room, he went with a cream and blue contemporary rug with an abstract design.
5. Spacious Breakfast Room
Phillip Sides selected a gray and beige wool and silk geometric rug to reinforce the custom ceiling molding in this spacious breakfast room.
